Aiming to support the growth of mobility in the channel industry, Intel has introduced Intel-branded mobile motherboards.

The two motherboards, Intel Mobile Board MGM965TW and Intel Mobile Board MGM965JB, will be available in June, as a 15,4-inch configurable notebook barebones system, through Mitac and local aggregators.

These mobile motherboards, based on Intel Centrino Duo processor technology and the next-generation Intel Centrino Pro (codenamed 'Santa Rosa), aim to support Intels on-going initiative to simplify the development of PC notebooks for consumers and SMEs.

Due next month, Intel Centrino Pro processor technology consists of the next-generation Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset family, Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Network Connection, Intel 82566MM and 82566MC Gigabit Network Connection.

With Intel Centrino Pro processor technology, users will be able to reliably manage both desktops and notebooks and deal with what plagues them most security threats, cost of ownership, resource allocation, and asset management and do so wirelessly, Intel says.

With these new mobile motherboard solutions, Intel extends advantages that users and administrators of PCs have benefited from in the past to the notebook space, says Tom Rampone, vice-president, sales and marketing group and GM: Channel Platforms Group, Intel. Intel mobile motherboards are designed to optimise the performance of Intel processors while delivering reliable, next-generation technology, value-added features and easy integration.
