The Epson EMP-TW620 is an HD Ready projector said to be able to satisfy home cinema lovers who demand high quality at an affordable price. It features a native 16:9 resolution for movies and displays true High Definition content, the company says.

Image quality is one of the best in its class due to a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and 1600 ANSI lumens of brightness, Epson adds. The 1,5x zoom lens aims to deliver crisp, sharp images.

A high contrast ratio of 5000:1 is claimed to be the result of Epsons Auto Iris Optical System, which is designed to control the intensity of light from the lamp and to produce deeper blacks with improved grey scaling in dark scenes and enhanced crispness and clarity in bright scenes.

A large room is not necessary for big screen viewing, Epson says, claiming that the EMP-TW620 will project a 60 screen size from just 1,8m away. The lens can be shifted 100% up and down, as well as 50% left and right.

The Epson Cinema Filter aims to provide different viewing options according to the ambience of the room. It will project a bright image in a light room and optimum contrast in a dark room, Epson says.

Hans Dummer, GM at Epson SA, says: For anyone interested in recreating the big screen at home, the EMP-TW620 is a product that is hard to resist. Epson has incorporated its 3LCD experience into a modern projector that offers quality viewing at an affordable price.
