The International Labour Office (ILO), with headquarters in Geneva, has implemented the Oracle E-Business Suite, aiming to better enable it to deliver greater transparency and administrative coherence across its worldwide network of offices.

The ILO, a specialised UN agency, decided to implement the software as part of an office-wide business initiative called the Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS), which went live at headquarters in April of 2005 with 1500 users.

IRIS was designed in line with the specific requirements of the UN Common System, which aims to set the standard for a number of practices, including employee entitlements and compensation, travel rules and calculations and performance management.

The implementation included Oracle Financial Management, Oracle Payroll, Oracle Advanced Benefits, Oracle iProcurement, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Projects, Oracle Labor Distribution, Oracle iExpenses and Oracle Human Resources Management System.

Oracle collaborated with the ILO to develop an UN-centric travel application, international payroll and a tool for loading UN salary and benefit scales all fully integrated with the Oracle E-Business Suite.
