@lantic selects SMC Networks to support ADSL offering

@lantic Internet Services, the Consumer Internet Services Provider of AltX-listed DataPro Group, has selected products developed by SMC Networks to be incorporated into its latest V2 ADSL offering.

 
@lantic Internet Services recently announced the availability of an @lantic-branded wireless ADSL modem at a price of R799.
 
The company simultaneously offered a once-off free 1GB ADSL usage for each SMC ADSL2/2+ BarricadeTMg sold. This product is designed to combine a wireless 4-port modem and router, four-port switch and wireless access point.
 
This is a complete solution for securely connecting & sharing your high speed ADSL connection, wired or wirelessly. It gives you instant always-on Internet connectivity with download speeds up to 24Mbps ideal for streaming multimedia content to the home, explains Paul Luff, country manager at SMC Networks SA.
 
The EZ Installation Wizard with on-screen help configures your ADSL connection & wireless network quickly and without any hassle. Quality-of-Service gives priority to real-time, delay sensitive applications like Voice-over-IP and video-on-demand to improve the user experience. The NAT firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), Intrusion Detection System (IDS) & Denial-of-Service (DoS) provides robust security from hackers. VPN pass-through is also provided for securely connecting to your office or corporate network, he adds. 
 
Dederick Venter, marketing manager at @lantic, has confirmed the SMC hardware would be available for purchase through the companys network of more than 190 franchisees and over 600 service partners across the country.
