ProScan Systems, a distributor of supply chain, automated data collection and mobile computing solutions, recently extended the Datalogic Gryphon series of handheld barcode readers with the addition of the Gryphon D130 long range model.

The long-reading distance of the D130 is specifically designed for document handling and point-of-sale applications, aiming to eliminate the need to pick up heavy goods to bring them closer to read the barcode.

ProScan was appointed as a local premier distributor for the Datalogic handheld range of barcode readers earlier this year.

The Gryphon long range model is equipped with a linear imager for a longer reading distance that is said to reach up to 43cm on all retail barcodes. It has full connectivity with three different interfaces in a single model: USB, RS232 and Wedge emulation, the company says.

The long range model is available in a choice of two colours: dark grey or white in response to different application needs. The model comes with a five-year warranty, and also features the Datalogic patented green spot for good read feedback.
