Concilium Technologies, local distributor of Agilent Technologies, says Agilent has announced the availability of the Agilent MXG signal generators, aiming to offer high adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) performance and switching speeds, coupled with simplified self-maintenance to maximise uptime.

Steve Alves, Concilium Technologies MD, says the analogue and vector signal generators are ideal for manufacturing teams producing components and receivers for communications systems.

This performance allows for greater test margins, ensuring more accurate measurements and improved yield, and also makes the Agilent MXG signal generators ideal for characterising high dynamic-range components such as multi-carrier power amplifiers (MCPAs), says Alves.

Simplified self-maintenance is another feature of the Agilent MXG signal generators, he adds. It aims to make it possible for users to maintain or repair the instruments in-house and maximise uptime. Typical onsite calibration can be performed in less than one hour and requires only a spectrum analyser and power meter, Alves claims.

With 100% internal diagnostic capability and a simple design consisting of five assemblies including the single RF assembly (all are field-replaceable), the average Agilent MXG repair time is just 30 minutes with no calibration required, Alves concludes.
