The offices - to be based in Santiago and Lima - will be 100% owned by Logicalis South America Limited (LSAL) and will bolster Logicalis current footprint in the region beyond its existing four offices in four countries.
According to Jens Montanana, chief executive of Datatec and Logicalis, the establishment of the two offices will bolster Logicalis commitment to South America, giving the company the critical mass to expand operations and to grow revenues in Chile and Peru seven-fold by the end of fiscal year 2008. It will also position Logicalis as the number one Cisco partner in the region.
The move will enable the company to become the partner of choice for advanced technology vendors and users in the region, says Montanana. Our Chile and Peru operations will focus on IP Telephony and security.
He says the South American ICT market is ripe for the introduction of a service-oriented organisation with a proven capability in managed services and shared support, and the capacity to work across the region.
The move to grow our presence in the region is supported by our strategic partners, many of whom see huge growth potential, he says. For example Cisco expects to grow its revenues in South America by 40% per year over the next two years.
Logicalis drive to grow its operations in South America will give the global company an opportunity to expand its business beyond developed markets into the emerging markets. Currently the South American business contributes 7% of Logicalis turnover.
