"We are delighted to include Cilix into our growing community of resellers," says Aletha Ling, recently appointed head of global sales and marketing at Fundamo. "Working with partners is a key part of our strategy in taking our solutions to the global market. Partners have the local knowledge and executive access to give us a fast start and to be effective and successful in those markets."
A Brazil-based systems integrator, Cilix Software focuses on the financial sector and specialises in Web solutions, content proliferation, divergent back-end systems and convergence technology. "Cilix is well established in the financial industry and is an excellent partner for us in the region, with strong technical skills to support our clients," comments Ling.
"We are very excited about moving into Brazil's massive and vibrant market. With some 90m mobile users and a population of around 180m, there is little end in sight to the growth of mobile telecommunications. Combined with a proven propensity for adopting electronic channels for banking they present an ideal consumer profile for mobile banking and payments, which we believe will be the next logical progression for the market.
"The country has a large and innovative banking environment and we have seen huge interest from several of the banks in Brazil. It is clear that many of the big banks are working towards mobile banking initiatives. With a very large section of the population un-banked and acknowledgement that many of the existing banking customers are under-serviced - this presents a real opportunity to both the banks and mobile operators in the region.
"The market in Brazil is indicative of what we are experiencing in many other regions, which supports the view that mobile banking and payments are moving into mainstream adoption," Ling adds.
"The blend of Fundamo's expertise in the provision of mobile transacting solutions and Cilix's strength in system integration will provide a mechanism for us to extend our offering with broad-based mobile solution capability," says Joao Leopoldo, CEO at Cilix Software.
"We see this agreement as another step towards fulfilling our goal of moving businesses and individuals into a world of real-time financial mobility," concludes Ling.
