Canon SA has introduced its latest additions to the PIXMA family, the PIXMA mini260 and entry-level PIXMA mini220.

These third generation PIXMA minis aim to combine photo lab quality with high print speeds, while the flagship mini260 also features Canons Easy-Scroll Wheel.

The Easy-Scroll Wheel is designed to allow users to spend more time exploring the printing possibilities available to them. Furthermore, the mini260 printers design incorporates a foldaway carry handle for on the move printing, Canon adds.

The third generation minis are undoubtedly representative of the ongoing evolution of PIXMA marrying style, elegance and print performance in a small design, says Ashley Botha, product manager at Canon Consumer Imaging SA.

The PIXMA mini printers are said to offer:

* Navigational features with the Easy-Scroll Wheel controller and built-in 2,5 (6,3cm) high quality, colour TFT display (mini260); or 2,5 LCD screen (mini220);
* Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) print head technology for better than photo lab quality, high speed printing and a maximum 9600 x 2400dpi resolution with minimum 1pl ink droplets (mini260);
* ChromaLife100 technology for long-lasting photos; and
* PictBridge, Card Direct, Bluetooth (using optional Bluetooth Unit BU-20) and IrDA direct printing from compatible mobile imaging devices.

Product availability is expected to be next month.
