The Mio satellite-navigation products include GPS navigation essentials, such as integrated Traffic Message Channel (TMC) service, navigation to Outlook contacts and Bluetooth hands-free calling, Rectron says. Users can also download database updates, add their own speed camera locations, and share them with Mio users over the Internet, the company adds.
According to Rectron, the Mio P550 and P350 PDAs feature Outlook Calendars, full synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook SiRFstar III GPS receivers and memory expansion of up to 2GBs, and all SA Mio products are bundled with HandyMAP Al, mapping software which offers free upgrades every six months.
Mios converged satellite navigation mobile devices offer important user benefits. These include ease of usability, as it is no longer necessary to carry a second antenna, as well as important navigation information, such as up-to-date pre-installed maps of particular regions and chipsets that improve navigation, says Jean-Pierre Botha, product manager at Rectron.
