Oracle Application Express Release 2.2 is said to feature several productivity enhancements designed to reduce the complexity of developing and deploying Web applications. The release aims to promote the re-use of Web applications, by enabling users to package applications and dependent objects, such as tables, seed data, and images, into a single file.
This aims to enable applications to be installed seamlessly into other Oracle Databases running Oracle Application Express. Oracle Application Express Release 2.2 also features an item finder that is designed to allow users to search within applications, component-level export, and an Access Control Wizard designed to control access to applications, among other capabilities.
Oracle Application Express is a Web-based application development tool said to be integrated with all editions of Oracle Database 10g and Oracle9i Database Release 2. This tool aims to enable users with limited programming experience to develop scalable Web applications that can be deployed quickly to tens, hundreds or thousands of users. Companies using Oracle Application Express include Allianz Insurance Management Asia-Pacific, Singapore, Bessemer Trust, and Sumner Technologies, LLC.
Thousands of users have turned to Oracle Application Express to build secure Web applications that can take advantage of the performance, reliability, and scalability of Oracle Database, says Michael Hichwa, vice-president of software development, Oracle. We are committed to providing users with an easy to use tool featuring a broad range of capabilities that enable users to develop and deploy Web applications efficiently.
