The arrival of the Pixma mini series also launches the sub-brand into the rapidly growing compact photo printing sector: there is now a Pixma printer for every environment, covering home, office, professional and compact-on-the-move use, Canon says.
The 1pl, 9600dpi mini260 Pixma minis flagship and high-end Photo All-in-One the MP600 all feature Canons Easy-Scroll Wheel user interface: a controller that aims to make photo printing, scanning (where available) and copying easier and more intuitive.
With continuous improvement to the Fine print head, Canon says that it has achieved record speeds for photo printing. The iP5300 delivers a single 10 x 15cm (4 x 6) lab quality photo in just 21 seconds, Canon adds.
The launch of the Pixma mini series extends the ranges characteristics into a rapidly expanding market: compact photo printing. Generally the Pixma line up offers a range of print options to suit every user: from the entry-level, representing value-for-money, to extensive direct printing options, including PictBridge, Card Direct and even IrDA (infrared) and optional Bluetooth, says Nigel Taylor, GM: marketing at Canon Consumer Imaging SA.
