Xerox, distributed in 24 sub-Saharan countries by Bytes Document Solutions, has introduced the Xerox Phaser 7760 tabloid colour laser printer, aiming to boost the output quality and productivity of design professionals.

The Phaser 7760 is designed to provide colour management tools, improved device performance and enhanced image quality for the creation of full colour documents, such as newsletters, brochures and pre-press proofs.

Consistent, accurate colour output is critical to any graphic artists business, says Ernest Leong, product manager: office products business (OPB) at Bytes Document Solutions. Addressing this, the Phaser 7760 offers colour tools that put designers in the drivers seat, allowing them to fine-tune and control colour and create documents with the image quality and consistency that they expect.

The Phaser 7760 includes PhaserMatch 4.0, colour matching and calibration software that aims to enable graphic designers to create colour proofs that accurately match colour output on offset printing presses or other commercial printing systems.

The device also offers three print quality modes, including a true 1 200dpi enhanced mode and a high-quality photo mode for press matching and printing on-demand, Leong adds. It prints up to 35 colour pages per minute (ppm) and 45ppm in black and white, and first colour page out time is as fast as nine seconds, he says.

The Phaser 7760 can print on a wide range of paper sizes and media weights and features improved print quality on glossy paper stock, giving final documents such as promotional fliers and signage a professional look, Leong says. Two advanced finishing options are available: an advanced finisher for stacking, stapling and hole-punching; and a professional finisher that can make booklets.
