Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 9. Highlights of this release are said to include enhancements designed specifically for the financial services and communications industries, usability enhancements designed to help increase productivity, and increased use of Oracle Fusion Middleware.

PeopleSoft CRM 9.0 offers DePaul University the best of both worlds; the option to take advantage of next generation technology using Oracle Fusion Middleware components, while enabling us to leverage the application enhancements, says DePaul University CRM craft team leader, Audrey Bledsoe. PeopleSoft CRM 9.0 will alleviate the need for several of the DePaul specific customisations and integration points weve developed in our CRM 8.9 environment. We are looking for ways to decrease maintenance time. This release should help.

The move to Internet Protocol (IP) services and 3G data networks requires communications service providers to have flexible customer and order management processes, enabling them to roll out new services quickly, define innovative pricing plans and deliver differentiated customer services, Oracle says. With PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM 9, Oracle claims to be delivering communications-specific care and ordering capabilities to streamline the deployment and maintenance of next generation services.

To help lower the cost of service and time to market for new products, PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM 9 aims to enhance order and service management, support for wireless market and to deliver business process management for mobile number portability, lost and or stolen wireless handsets and prepaid account set-up.

Additionally, PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM 9 is claimed to offer best-of-breed CRM capabilities for the financial services market. According to Oracle, enhancements for PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM 9 include sample processes for Financial Account Creation, Lead and Referral Management, as well as Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP), aiming to allow PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM 9 content currently available within the PeopleSoft portal technology to be visible within diverse third party portal technologies.
