Lightedge, a national IT distributor and technology services company specialising in advanced Microsoft infrastructures, hardware platform integration and headquartered in Cape Town, expects to grow its business by 20% during the next financial year.

Leveraging off its traditional business base, this growth will be significantly supported by the success of Lightedges recently established SLA division, and its software development division, Lightedge Applied Concepts, the company says.

Lightedge Applied Concepts was formed to enrich the companys offering to clients. Grant Poulton, Lightedge MD, says: We can now offer everything from hardware to software to IT support under one roof.

This software division is able to develop anything from an e-commerce Web site to an integrated Web-based Inventory Management and Order Processing system. The Integrated E-business and Information Management Solutions are designed to be platform-independent, so that they can run on any hardware or software platform, he adds.

Poulton says: The division will provide application development, data mining, business analysis and design services. We are excited at the internal systems already being produced by the software division that will enable Lightedge to provide an even better service to its end-users, along with the provision of development services to our existing clients.

The entire solution has been developed on paper to eliminate any confusion or unmatched client expectations. Just as an architect develops the entire build on paper before commencing construction, software architects need to devote enough time to the business and planning process to build successful solutions, says Peter Moss, business development manager at Lightedge Applied Concepts.
