The system consists of two side-by-side 80 digital displays that offer a high resolution multimedia messaging tool. The system is said to be capable of producing 16,7m colours.
According to the company, the 'Digital Definition' display system is capable of playing back a broad range of multimedia formats, including JPG, MP4 video, DVD, Gaming, Broadcast signal, Flash.
Although the pilot display is relatively entry level in terms of the companys offerings, it is intended to open the door to an evolution of enhanced technologies.
One of these is the 'through window touch-screen', which is designed to enable customers to navigate through a retailers goods and services, even when the store is closed. In addition to that there is an audio component, which converts the glass panel into a speaker, essentially giving the retailer an interactive audio-visual marketing tool.
Content management and distribution is also catered for in the form of datacasting, whereby each store in a retail chain would be linked up via a satellite or terrestrial network. Content developed by the retailers marketing department would be fed through to each store, where it would be played back through the 'Digital Definition' display system, according to a scheduled play-list.
