Informatica grows licence revenue by 31%, total revenues by 26%

Informatica, which provides data integration software, has announced second-quarter revenues of $80,8m, a 26% increase over the same period last year. Licence revenues for the second quarter were $36,9m, up by 31% from the $28,1m recorded in the second quarter of 2005.

We are very pleased to report the fifth consecutive quarter of year-over-year total revenue and licence revenue growth of over 20%, says Sohaib Abbasi, chairman and CEO of Informatica.

The local operation has seen growth on the back of the international results, says Paul van Aswegen, GM of Informatica SA. We have managed to up sell into existing accounts and sign new customers in the mining and telecoms industries, and we are focusing on government business, a sector that has been successful for Informatica globally.

Net income for the second quarter, calculated in accordance with US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), was $7,6m, or $0,09 per diluted share; exactly the same as the same period last year.

For the six-month period that ended on June 30, revenues were $153,9m, an increase of 26% from the $122,6m recorded for the first six months of 2005. Licence revenues for the first six months of 2006 were $69,7m, up by 31% from $53,1m in the first six months of 2005.
