The Starter Kit aims to combine Foundstone appliances, support and software licences at a compelling price point, and to make it as easy as possible for partners to introduce the Foundstone vulnerability management solution to their customer base.
Once installed, the starter kits are said to allow partners to demonstrate the benefits of vulnerability management to their customers. The partners also benefit from the up-sell opportunities of moving their customers toward a full risk management solution, McAfee adds.
Businesses face a deluge of information about threats and vulnerabilities, the sheer volume of which makes it nearly impossible to determine which threats are critical. A recent McAfee survey revealed that almost half (45%) of those questioned believe their IT infrastructure is never 100% protected from vulnerabilities.
McAfees Foundstone solution is designed to offer a priority-based approach to vulnerability management, and to enable businesses to focus limited resources on protecting the most critical business assets. Foundstone aims to balance asset value, vulnerability severity and threat criticality to help businesses mitigate the risks posed to their IT infrastructure by security threats.
