Microsoft appoints marketing head for MEA region

Microsoft has announced Mike Cathie's promotion to group marketing director for the Middle East and Africa region. Cathie, who joined Microsoft in 1998 as consumer group director, enjoyed great success in his time with the SA subsidiary, progressing to the position of marketing director, and later to the role of business and marketing officer.

Cathie says that he will focus on aligning the regions marketing strategy with Microsofts global marketing drive to achieve the maximum impact for the Microsoft brand in the region.
 
Addressing the technology needs of these diverse markets, growing the software business in the region while driving an understanding of Microsofts 'people-ready' business vision will be key. says Cathie.
 
The 'people-ready' business is Microsofts vision for how successful companies harness their greatest asset their people - by empowering them with the right software to help them to improve business performance, he adds.
