Without the aid of technology, the process of ensuring that staff adhere to the agreed hours of work and are paid accurately, is labour-intensive and most small businesses can ill-afford to take the necessary time out to manage the process effectively. Technology represents a solution, but how does one judge which software to integrate into business? And to what extent will it make a difference to the bottom line? so says Teryl Schroenn, MD at Accsys, a provider of HR, payroll, and time and attendance and access control management solutions.
Having identified this need in the market, Accsys has developed a software package called PeoplePay aimed at the small-to-medium segment of the market.
When combined with Peopleware Time Keeper, a remote, stand-alone time and attendance solution that allows for automatic on-and-off-site control, these solutions cover every aspect of effective time and payroll management with ease, says Schroenn.
The company advocates a combination of both PeoplePay and Peopleware Time Keeper because of the technical synergy that exists between the solutions and the benefits acquired as a result.
PeoplePay is a Windows-based, 'plug and play' payroll software package used to manage weekly, fortnightly or monthly wages as well as the salaries of an SMME, Schroenn says. Features are said to include the printing of payslips and IRP5s, comprehensive reporting, electronic SARS and UIF extracts, as well as the ability to export to and import from Microsoft Excel.
