"The notebook is based on Intel Core Duo processors with up to 2,16GHz of processing performance, a 667MHz front-side bus and 2MB of L2 cache. This amounts to all the power that business users need to run their most demanding applications," says Mark Prosser, notebook product manager at Acer SA.
The processing power is backed by up to 2GB of DDR2 533/667MHz memory, upgradeable to 4GB, he says. The TravelMate 4220 also features the versatile Mobile Intel 945GM/PM Express chipset with integrated 3D graphics, and offers a range of connectivity options designed to ensure that users are always able to get online, he adds.
Connectivity options are said to include the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection (a dual-band tri-mode 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi Certified solution) or the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945BG network connection (dual-mode 802.11b/g, also Wi-Fi certified).
According to Prosser, the TravelMate 4220 features a 15,4" WXGA TFT LCD that offers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, or a 15" XGA colour TFT LCD with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The 15,4" option is designed to support simultaneous multi-window viewing on dual displays via Acer GridVista, aiming to allow users to work on multiple documents and applications efficiently and comfortably.
