HP has introduced the HP Compaq nx9420, said to carry the latest processor technology and improved performance to help mobile professionals stay connected and productive.

HP also introduced the HP Ultra-Capacity Battery, a 12-cell lithium-ion battery that works across HPs business notebook line-up and is designed to extend independent operating time by up to an additional 10 hours on some models.

The HP Compaq nx9420 Notebook features Intel Core Duo processor technology, which aims to enable users to simultaneously run multiple applications to work more efficiently.

Todays mobile lifestyle requires busy professionals to stay connected and productive throughout the day, regardless of location, says Thibault Dousson, HPs personal systems group category country manager.

Designed for users needing high-performance and widescreen functionality combined with mobile convenience, Dousson says the HP Compaq nx9420 features a 17-inch widescreen display, Intel Core Duo processor and powerful 3D graphics. In addition, he adds, the nx9420 is 35% thinner and 17% lighter than current HP desktop replacement notebooks. It also delivers up to four hours of battery life, which is claimed to represent up to 129% more battery life over previous HP 17-inch notebooks.

The ultra-capacity battery can be charged separately by plugging a Smart AC adapter directly into it, HP says. Also available is the optional HP Extended Life Battery, an eight-cell lithium-ion battery that aims to provide up to an additional five hours of battery life with the added convenience of being able to charge the battery while docked.
