One of the biggest challenges facing corporations of all sizes remains the effective management of the projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and according to scope.

It is against this backdrop that New Era Solutions says that it will be offering customers and project managers the opportunity to drill down into how the effective use of technology, such as the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management suite, can benefit them with meeting these deliverables, on Friday 12th November.

Says Scott Mckenzie, MD at New Era Solutions: While project management is most commonly run as a manual and people-intensive task, it is important for companies to realise that this need not remain the case if effective technology were to be introduced into the equation.

Technology which works as an enabler, and is able to adapt to, and accommodate the requirements of a project, and, more importantly, assist the people involved in the project by automating many of their paper-intensive tasks, can save a company time and money.

The 'workshop', which will be held at Microsofts offices, will cover the following areas: alignment of people and projects with strategic company objectives; faster more informed business decisions; smooth collaboration and co-ordination; effective resource deployment; increased employee productivity and improved time management.

But there is no use just telling you about the technology, it is important to be able to let a user thereof walk you through it. It is with this in mind that we have asked Michael Brown, divisional director at Nashua Mobile, to share his companys motivation behind the decision to implement Microsoft EPM, and how the solution has provided the infrastructure for visibility and tighter control over its portfolio of projects, and ultimately provide added business value to the organisation, adds McKenzie.
