Local distribution houses, Workgroup and Pinnacle Micro, have announced the immediate availability of Trust's PW-2700P quick battery USB charger, which, according to the companies, means quick recharging sessions for users with access to a car lighter connection, a USB port or a wall socket.

The unit is sold with four AA and two AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries, with four of the former taking less than 3,5 hours to charge and four of the latter less than 2,5 hours to recharge, the companies add.

The unit is designed to come pre-installed with built-in protection that prevents overcharging, short-circuiting, overheating, reverse polarity and putting a stop to charging unsuitable batteries.

"The PW-2700P is ideal for use with digital cameras and other battery consuming devices," says Arno Fourie, Trust brand manager at Workgroup. "The included batteries are colour-coded to prevent mixing of fully charged and discharged batteries, thus really simplifying the end-user experience."
