A World Wide Web concept introduced by Pam Golding Properties (PGP) now enables property buyers to literally map out the most convenient routes to visit show-houses and apartments on show days with an online visual suburb street map.

This facility has initially been launched in the Western Cape and Gauteng, and will be rolled out nationally within the next few months. In this way, we hope to make show-house viewing as effortless and enjoyable an experience as possible, says Anthony Stroebel, group marketing director for the PGP group.

"We realise that time is a precious commodity for all consumers, particularly on Sundays which are essentially days for enjoying quality family time. From Thursday morning until Sunday each week, visitors to the PGP Web site have instant access to our Web mapping service, with street level maps specifically designed to assist them in planning their show-house viewing, and ensuring that they have all the property information that they need to make an even more informed decision regarding their property purchase," says Stroebel.

"All you need to do is visit www.pamgolding.co.za/showdays and you will be guided from regional high level maps through to clearly detailed suburb road maps. Once you have selected the homes you wish to visit and added them to your personal route planner, you can then generate easy-to-follow street directions, which can be printed out to take with you. The maps also provide useful information, such as the location of schools, hospitals, post offices and police stations," says Simon Gibb, PGP's media communications manager.

Adds Gibb: "In the near future we will be adding to these maps further information of benefit to home buyers, such as information on other properties sold in the area - all accessed via the same mapping system, and thereby empowering our clients to make even better informed decisions."

The PGP Web site receives 14m hits on average each month, resulting from over 109 000 visitors each month. This equates to approximately 452 000 hits daily from buyers seeking homes. It is interesting that some 35-40% of these are from outside SA. On average each visitor accesses 40 different properties, indicative of the involvement levels of consumers.
