BPM fundi to attend local congress

Dr Michael Hammer, co-author of the bestselling book 'Re-engineering the corporation', and professor at MIT's Sloan School of Management, is scheduled to speak at this year's third annual Business Process Management (BPM) Congress at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg from September 11 - 14.
 

Dr Hammer, once named by Time Magazine as one of Americas twenty-five most influential individuals, is widely known for his research and teachings on how to transform business operations. His presentation on harnessing the power of processes are expected to address challenges, misconceptions and steps that businesses need to take to realise the benefits of BPM. He uses practical examples from a wide range of industries to illustrate his teachings.

Other highlights of this years congress will include demonstrations of how businesses derive value from BPM solutions, with practical insights from existing customers. Global 360 will host a half-day workshop on Business Optimisation and Emerge Africa, its master reseller in Africa, will take part in the panel discussion after Dr Hammers presentation.

User presentations by the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Sun International, Eskom, MTN, Department of Labour and Multichoice will focus on:
* How to defeat the common barriers to a successful BPM implementation;
* Implementing a process culture;
* Challenges and benefits associated with enterprise-wide BPM; and
* Changing company direction by exploiting the real value of BPM.
