CA has joined Carnegie Mellon University's Information Technology Services Qualification Centre (ITSqc) Research Consortium to develop and formulate sourcing best practices standards.

ITSqc is a multidisciplinary group of researchers, practitioners, and organisations, which aims to address the needs of IT-enabled service providers and their clients by creating capability models and qualification methods that improve the sourcing relationships for IT-enabled sourcing transactions.

We are pleased to lend the expertise and insights we have developed to the creation of sourcing best practices and standards, says Una O'Neill, senior vice-president and GM, CA Technology Services.

The ITSqc is developing two complementary eSourcing Capability Models for service providers and for clients who use IT-enabled sourcing services.

The models include a number of best practices that are associated with successful sourcing relationships, and can assist service providers and clients in identifying and assessing their current capabilities associated with best practices.

We feel that CA will make significant contributions to our efforts and to the growing global adoption of the eSourcing Capability Models, says Jane Siegel, PhD, director of the ITSqc.

The consortium comprises representatives from the Standardisation, Testing, and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate of the Department of Information Technology, Government of India, the IT Services Management Forum (itSMF USA), TPI, several first-tier service providers, specialised service providers, and client organisations.
