Internet Solutions (IS) and Sophos Anti-Virus have announced that they have renewed their strategic partnership, whereby IS will integrate Sophos's technology into its dial-up solutions.

Says Rob Firer, product manager at Internet Solutions: "The superior detection and speed with which Sophos releases its updates, coupled with the support received from the local Sophos distributor, NetXactics, made the decision to renew an easy one."

IS provides its dial-up solutions through its Virtual Internet Service Providers (VISPs) and Virtual Remote Access (VRA) customers. It has incorporated the Sophos Anti-Virus Interface (SAVI) into its e-mail service, aiming to ensure that customers receive the very best anti-virus protection available.

"We originally selected Sophos anti-virus technology because of its high detection rates, ease of integration and overall technological stability, and our decision has been vindicated time and time again. IS prides itself on delivering a first-rate service to its customers, and, from an anti-virus perspective, we definitely meet this objective," Firer says.

"Sophos has a proven record of supplying the fastest updates coupled with unsurpassed scanning speed," says Brett Myroff, CEO of local Sophos distributor, NetXactics. "Both of these factors are critical to IS if it is to provide its customers with the best possible protection".

Using SAV Interface technology, third-party vendors and service providers can combine Sophos's anti-virus capabilities with firewalls, e-mail servers, encryption and other security-related devices.
