Dimension Data, in conjunction with Microsoft, will jointly host a conference entitled "2010: A Technology Odyssey".

The event, which will take place at the Dimension Data Campus on 19 October, will explore the role of ICT in hosting the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup.

"Technology will be one of the key enablers and critical success factors of this global sporting event. It is therefore imperative that we explore the role that ICT will play in our journey towards 2010," says Andile Ngcaba, chairman designate, Dimension Data SA.

The one-day event will commence with keynote addresses by Ngcaba, Sports and Recreation Minister, Mankenkisi Stofile, and MD of Microsoft SA, Gordon Frazer.

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to engage with industry thought leaders and technology experts to discuss and share the issues facing businesses and SA as a whole in the build-up to 2010.

Various solution, partner, e-government and services tracks will be held during the day, allowing visitors to attend the presentations most relevant to them.

"Not only will the skills of the world's top footballers be on display in 2010, so too will our nation be on the centre stage. Through this event, Dimension Data and Microsoft offer the ideal industry networking platform to discuss ICT's role in the exciting journey to 2010," concludes Ngcaba.
