Due to the increasing demand for Software AG SA's "Programming Natural in the 21st Century" training course, the company has undertaken to schedule additional courses, although it will be at a nominal fee.

The company is currently running a series of free courses on the above topic. The first session took place between 8 and 10 September, and the balance will follow at intervals through to November.

Devon Dalbock, sales director of Software AG SA, says the rationale behind the decision to offer free training was based on a need to help Adabas/Natural customers update their skills.

The Adabas/Natural product range has moved out of the legacy arena with a host of new products offering exciting features, he says. For example, Natural Productivity allows users to develop on the PC and deploy on the mainframe.

The course, which incorporates workshops, is aimed at informing Software AGs local customer base and consultants about the new products.

It includes an overview of Natural 6 on the PC and Natural 4 on the mainframe. In addition, delegates are intended to learn how to use the single-point-of-development environment to program on the PC, while mapping to a mainframe or Unix environment.

They also use Naturals XML and integration capabilities to expose the application which has been developed to the Web, Dalbock adds.
